The Now And Future Aransas Metropolis

It’s not even halfway through January, and spring music is already tuning up in the Aransas Metropolis.*  The next few months will bring us concerts at Third Coast Music, Port Aransas Community Center, Copano Bay RV Resort, Coastal Bend Music, Rockport Center for the Arts, and more. Plus there’s LamardiGras coming up in Lamar and PardiGras coming up in Aransas Pass. So much to look forward to!

Lots of holiday events are starting to crop up. Santa breakfasts, holiday markets, Christmas celebrations, charitable opportunities, and more. There’s just not room for everything going on around the Aransas Metropolis* this weekend (Dec 1-3, 2023), so this blog concentrates mainly on theater, live music, and dance. Rockport Little Theatre opens “One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall” this weekend

Holiday plays open this weekend at both Rockport Little Theater and Port Aransas Community Theater. Toscano Burgers drive-in movies bring the holidays to the “big screen.”  Rockport hosts its annual Tropical Christmas, Port Aransas holds its Christmas in the Park, and Aransas Pass celebrates its tree lighting. The Aransas County History Center in Rockport presents Historical Christmas. And of course lots of live music is scheduled around the metropolis.

Songwriter Festival Returns To Rockport

The Aransas Metropolis* is becoming known for excellent live music at both regular venues and at special events. This weekend Coastal Bend Music brings the Second Annual Rockport Songwriter Festival to town.

Musician Billy Snipes returns to play at Lulu’s Landing in Fulton on Saturday.

This weekend there’s also live music at the Rockport Arbor Day celebration and Lamar Market Days. Not to mention all the regional venues hosting outstanding musicians. Come along and sing along.

More Than Halloween In The Coastal Bend

If you’re a Halloween fan, you’ll find plenty of seasonal events to enjoy everywhere you look in the Aransas Metropolis* this weekend (Oct 27-29, 2023).  Especially trunk-of-treat activities for kids, and hauntings and costume parties for adults. Spirited events started early this month, and this weekend brings so many spooky events that this column can list only a few! Check the listing below for some, but look over your shoulder for more.

Labor Day weekend is the unofficial start of fall.
